Migrate database from CUCM 6 to CUCM 8.6

Hi all

My customer purchase a new solution of CUCM's in version 8, is possible use the database from the actual CCM 6 and only upload the backup from the old platform version 6 to the new uin version 8.6?

No, DRS needs the exact same version from which it was taken for it to work.

Your options are regular BAT or the export option and then massage the data as necessary so it's accepted into 8.X

So all the configuration as, device pool, transcoders, partitions, etc etc etc must need configured manually?

Correct, what you cannot export, will need to be configured manually on 8.X

Hello,

There is something called bridge upgrade, i think i remember.

You upgrade 6 to 8 in actual servers, and when it boots, you can not have call manager services running but will be able to do a backup. Then you revert from 8 to 6 and use the backup to restore in the new servers.

You can restore a backup from one cluster to other, but has to be the same version, ips, and may be security password.

Take a look at upgrade documentation and look for the keywords "bridge upgrade".
