Hi all,
I have to perform an upgrade from call manager 7.x to call manager 10.x. The 10x will be installed on new ucs server while the 7x is currently on the mcs box. The current install is business edition 7.x which includes call manager and unity connection. We would like to perform a backup of the current platform and restore on the new ucs server system, however how can this be accomplished?
Also the new platform is going to be highly available therefore we are going to have a publisher and subscibers for both cucm and unity cnx.
Please advise. Thanks

No, 5K edition is restricted to MCS only, and you cannot backup and restore from 5K into anything else, if not another 5K install.
You'll need to upgrade and use BAT to get the CUCM info out, for CUC, you can use COBRAS
If you're a partner, there's a 5K to 6K (or any standalone install) doc available here

Hi Jaime,
Thanks for your response. Firstly what do you mean the 5k edition? Additionally are you saying that only same versions of call manager allows backup and restore?

That's the equivalent this days, for the old BE when you had CUCM and CUC on the MCS 7828/7816
Yes, if you have a 5K, you need to DRS into another 5K
