Migration to Webex

OK so starting to plan a migration to cloud and just need to ask about a step in the process.

If all the pre-requisites have been done, local gateway installed and configured then the CUCM export has been imported into Webex cloud and the errors fixed, the on-prem is still working as I haven't migrated any phones to MPP and so they can not connect to Webex? I can selectively migrate a "device pool" one at a time from on-prem to Webex and test functionality before continuing - providing I have manipulated the dial plans accordingly?

Thanks All

Paul

Yes. The main thing to consider is that once an extension/DID exists in WxC-MT, it will supersede the Dial Plan pointing at the LGW and CUCM. In other words, don’t migrate users/workspaces until you’re ready to cut that group once at least one other group have been moved over or the cloud-registered folks won’t be able to call the soon-to-be-cloud-registered folks.

You have more flexibility in CUCM, either by moving DNs into another Partition once migrated or by creating Route Patterns toward the LGW in a higher/more preferred Partition in the CSS. The latter is easier since the former can’t be done with BAT (but is possible with AXL API calls).

Brilliant - thanks
