Mobile Voice Access - Multiple Sites

Currently working to setup MVA for multiple sites.

The main / core site is up and running.

Can call the MVA DN (6980) from an external phone and reach the IVR.

I cannot reach the MVA DN from an Internal Phone (by DN only) or from another remote H323 gateway.

My assumption is that I cannot get the remote site to work because the DN is not reachable.

Should I be able to pickup an internal cisco ip phone and dial 6980 and reach the IVR?

Yes, you should be able to dial MVA DN from any phone.

Adam,

MVA (Mobile Voice Access) is used with IVR to make a call from a cell phone as if you are calling from the CallManager network. We need a H.323 GW which can run a VXML script (from 7.1.3 CUCM, SIP VXML gateway can be used).

The question is why do you want to dial the MVA number from the internal phone? This defeat the whole MVA idea...

Secondly you will need to route the call from the CUCM to the vxml gateway if you want to get to the IVR. I.e Create Route patterns etcs

I can reach the IVR if I dial through the PSTN. Route Patterns / Dial Peers are working fine on the gateway.

The issue I am having is this:

Dial into a seconday H323 gateway, translate the call to 6890 (MVA DN) and send across to cucm for MVA IVR. 6890 is not actually reachable by extension.

Do route patterns have to be created on CUCM or CTI to point to 6890? Not sure what I am missing here.

The MVA number that is defined in CUCM is not really the number you dial when the call gets to the IVR on the VGW. It's invoked by the VXML script, via internal script signaling, at the time you dial in to the VGW and hit the dial-peer with the application for MVA. But you still need to be able to route the call to the MVA DN from each VGW that has the MVA app setup. I've setup multiple VGW to MVA, so I know that it's possible. Try to add a TP in a PT that is only seen by the incoming CSS for the VGW that translates the local MVA number to the cluster wide MVA DN in CUCM. This PT/TP/CSS need to be site specific. Also make sure that each local VGW can route a call to the cluster wide MVA DN.

For the other issue, call from a IP phone to MVA, you need to hair-pin the call to the VGW so that the call can hit the dial-peer that have the MVA app. Since this is usually a POTS dp you need to setup a VOIP dp that sends the call to a loop back interface, and then returns the call right back so that it can invoke the MVA app. A app can only be invoked in the incoming direction to a dial-peer.

Hi Roger,

On the second/remote H323 Gateway, I am seeing:

Script Name : mva

       URL  : http://192.168.111.20:8080/ccmivr/pages/IVRMainpage.vxml

       Type : Service

       State: Not Loaded

       Life : Configured

       Exec Instances: 0

I'm assuming the "Not Loaded" is part of the issue as well. I've removed / added this serveral times.

Any thoughts?

Just did a debug when attempting to laod the script.

Have you tried to restart the MVA service in CUCM. Have seen issues with loading the script if that isn't done.

Hi Roger,

Sorry for the late reply. I now have the script loaded on the box, but can't see to get MVA to invoke properly. Simply receive the number you dialed is not in service.

Adam

Adam could you please post you config from the VGW that you have problem with MVA?
