MoH issue

Hi everyone,

I am working on a voip class project. There's a HQ and a Branch. The CUCM cluster is in HQ and consists of a publisher and a subscriber.  I configured the multicast MoH for HQ and Branch phones. But the MoH is not working in Branch phones.

When I make a call from "A" HQ phone to "B" HQ phone and put the call on hold, "B" can hear the music,

When I make a call from a branch phone to a HQ phone and put the call on hold, the HQ phone can hear the music.

But when I make a call from a HQ phone to a Branch phone and put the call on hold, the Branch phone cannot hear the music. It goes to silent

Also when I make a call from "A" Branch phone to "B" Branch phone and put the call on hold, "B" phone cannot hear the music.

Don't know why any of the Branch phones cannot hear the Music on Hold.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

The max hops count parameter is to set the max hops on the multicast packets that are sent out of the CUCM MOH server. So if you set a max hops of 3, the packets will stream until the 3rd hop. Is your WAN/BR router coming only after the third hop?

Also, why are you streaming the MOH from the HQ router? At the HQ, you already have CUCM MOH server streaming the MOH audio. It only makes sense to use the BR router to stream the audio for BR phones because it saves bandwidth over WAN.

I suggest you take a look at this guide first.

Hi,

You can set Medira Resource Group list and User Hold MOH Audio Source for B Branch phones.

See Attachment.

As ergin as mentioned, check the MRGLs set on the phones, as well as the User Hold source configured on them. Apart from this, are you using the branch router to stream the MOH? Or are you streaming the MOH from the CUCM server itself?

What is the max hops count that you have set on the Audio source in the UCM?

I configured one MRGL and assigned it to Branch and HQ phones. User hold source are also configured.

I am using HQ router to stream the MOH.

I set The max hop count to 3.

I have HQ router, Branch router and WAN/PSTN router
