MOH multicast on Cisco 2901

Hi guys,

I'm deploying CUCM 10.5.2 with multisites.

Each site has a Cisco 2901 in a latest release 15.4(3)M2 connected in SIP Trunk to the CUCM.

Alls works fine (SIP SRST , SIP Trunks, PSTN ,etc...) but the only problem I have is the multicast MOH on the router.

I configured the CUCM Publisher to diffuse the MOH in multicast.

The problem don't come from the CUCM because when I put an IP phone on hold , I see the multicast session active on RTMT.

And when I put on hold, the IP Phone hears silence (no tone).

So the problem come from the 2901.

When I try to put a phone on hold (PSTN Phone) , I see 0 session active in the command : show ccm-manager music-on-hold

I thinks the gateway don't diffuse the music...

For each site, all phones and gateway are in the same subnet so doesn't need to configure multicast on the network (Ex: ip pim sparse-mode).

I put the MOH Cisco in the flash "SampleAudioSource.ulaw.wav".

This is my configuration on the router for the multicast :

ccm-manager music-on-hold

call-manager-fallback
 max-conferences 8 gain -6
 transfer-system full-consult
 ip source-address 10.198.253.62 port 2000
 max-ephones 1
 max-dn 1
 moh enable-g711 "SampleAudioSource.ulaw.wav"
 multicast moh 239.1.1.1 port 16384

==> 10.198.253.62 is the IP adress of the router (Gig 0/0).

Can you help me please ??

Regards,

Ronan,

I have a similar issue.  Multicast MoH is working for me in locations that have SCCP phones but I get silence for locations that have SIP firmware.  Have you found a solution for this?  I also opened a TAC case for this issues so I will post back if I find a resolution.

Thanks,

Carlos

Are you certain that the IP address is "239.1.1.1"? Remember that the IP increments per codec and needs to be different per CUCM server. So, which ever CUCM server the IP phone is registered to, is the IP address that the router should be broadcasting. Also I wouldn't use call-manager-fallback, instead I would use "telephony-service" and change the following "multicast moh 239.1.1.1 port 16384 10.198.253.62"

Hi,

These are the things I guess you need to check

1) is Multicast enabled on the LAN?

2) Is the multicast routing enabled on the VGW

ip multicast-routing <-------------------------------------

3) Dense mode ot Spares on the interface?

interface GigabitEthernet0/0
ip address 172.21.72.6 255.255.254.0
ip pim sparse-dense-mode <----------------------------

4) Have you tried to bind the MOH interface

ccm-manager music-on-hold bind GigabitEthernet0/0 <------

5) the ip mroute .. It seems that you miss the addresses!!

 multicast moh 239.1.1.1 port 16384 route 172.21.72.6 10.1.1.1 <----

6)

sh call active voice | i RemoteMedia <--- when a call is on MOH the output should be
RemoteMediaIPAddress=239.1.1.1 <--
RemoteMediaPort=16384

7) can you see the mroute or the default one

IP Multicast Routing Table
Flags: D - Dense, S - Sparse, B - Bidir Group, s - SSM Group, C - Connected,
L - Local, P - Pruned, R - RP-bit set, F - Register flag,
