Hello!
I'm using CUCM version: 10.5.2.11900-3 and I'm experiencing some problems.
First of all, we have some issues with call transfer. The problem is that the user at branch offices can't transfer a call from PSTN which comes from FXO port to a SIP phone 9971, however I the user can transfer the same call to SCCP phone 7911.
I decided to turn on MTP (Media Termination Point) under Phone Configuration it solved problem but I now the problem is that 9971 users can not use video option and they experience low quality calls.
If you have ever faced with these issues please share your experience.
I really need some help. Thank you.

Hi Niyazi,
Did you try upgrading Cisco 9971 phone to last available firmware? Maybe you're facing a bug.

Hi, I'm using sip9971.9-4-1-9 firmware. I think it is the latest one.

Hi Niyazi,
Can you try and configure an IOS MTP with codec passthru enabled and see if it helps. As per Video SRND "To support video channels, the MTP uses pass-through mode. Video pass-through gets enabled if the MTP supports both pass-through and multiple logical channels. Not all MTP devices support multiple logical channels and pass-through mode."

I have done what you say and after that users were not able to make calls at all.

Do you have any other suggestions?

Hi Niyazi,
Can you check "Early Offer support for voice and video calls ( insert MTP if needed )" on the SIP profile assigned to the SIP trunk and uncheck MTP required from the SIP trunk. Make a test call and see if it works. Share the detailed ccm trace with call details if it does not work.

Hi Niyazi,
Are you trying to achieve the point to video calling from branch to HQ or conference video calling.
As already suggested by Manish, making it on SIP Profile is better option as this does not hard code the MTP.
Also if you have the MTP assigned to a device pool and that device pool have video phones then video conferencing will never work.

Raaj.
