MTP`s not registering

I`ve inherited a CUCM system , previously as part of the install the MTP`s were created but the IP Media Voice streaming was never turned on so the MTP`s were not registered. I`ve now turned on media streaming but the MTP`s still did not registered - any idea`s, what do I need to do ?

General question if we have a single site cluster why would you require MTP`s if everything is the same Codec - I think we need them in our case because we are using a SIP trunk on which DTMF tones are sent

thanks

Try deleting and recreating the MTP

As you mentioned most usually MTPs are required for supplementary services on H323 or SIP trunks.

Media Termination Point (MTP)

Java,

As I mentioned I started the Media Streaming on two of the servers - Sub 1, Sub 3. So If I now delete the MTP which was created at the install on Sub 1 should be automatically register when I create it again ?

I could not delete them - there no option to do so we`re using 6.1.2.xxxx. I`ve attached a screen shoot of the MTP page on CCM- Any idea`s. If I "select all" option or the top box which normally selects anything on the page and then press enter delete selected it returned no MTP has been selected

Hi Java

I cant register the MTP the gateways are showing me this error

Software MTP Oper State: ACTIVE_IN_PROGRESS - Cause Code: TCP_CONN_ERROR

This is my current configuration...

Any idea?

Andres

Make sure that the MTP definition in CM uses the correct MAC address or EXACT EXPLICIT hostname of the device providing the MTP resource. If the MTP resource is a ISR, ensure that there are no unintentional white-spaces in the hostname when you define it in CM.

What do you have for your sccp local and sccp ccm x.x.x.x commands? I don't see these here in the config. You'll need:

sccp local fa0/0

Choose the appropriate interface that the MTP will register from.

sccp ccm x.x.x.x identifier 1 priority 1 version ?

Put in the UCM ip address where the x's are and for the version, hit the ? mark and put your CM version in. If you're running version 5, 6, or 7 and the highest option available is 5.x, choose the highest available.

Please rate if this helps.

Try this:

no sccp

sccp ccm group 1

no associate ccm 1 pri 1

no sccp ccm 10.11.194.5 identifier 3

no sccp ccm 10.11.194.7 identifier 2

no sccp ccm 10.11.194.9 identifier 1

sccp ccm 10.11.194.5 identifier 3 ver 5.0

sccp ccm 10.11.194.7 identifier 2 ver 5.0

sccp ccm 10.11.194.9 identifier 1 ver 5.0

sccp ccm group 1

associate ccm 1 pri 1

You can check to see if there is a closer version match to your actual CUCM version and use that instead of 5.0
