We're using the Cisco IP Phone 79xx line (in this particlular case a 7975).
I'd like a set up where more than one person can listen in on that phone (trainer / trainee situation). I have already tried connecting a headset to the auxiliary port and having the person hit the headset key after picking up the handset, and that's doesn't seem to be working out.
Are there systems that will do something like that? Since we're using contact center (CCX) it's not practical to use common extensions to barge in on.
Hi Al,
If you use Plantronics Headsets there is a "Y" cord made specifically for this purpose.
"Y" Training Adapter -
The Y training cable allows you to connect two headsets with QD (Quick Disconnect) connections to one phone. It also includes a mute switch which allows you to mute either headset. We have used these in many environments very
successfully
