Hi all,

I have gw configured via H.323 to CUCM 7.1 ...
I want users to play Music On Hold from gateway not from CUCM....

for this i download music-on-hold.au file into rotuer's flash & did following configuration under telephony service:

telephony-service
max-conferences 4 gain -6
moh flash:music-on-hold.au
multicast moh 239.1.1.1 port 16384 route 142.102.65.254
transfer-system full-consult
create cnf-files version-stamp Jan 01 2002 00:00:00

when i call from one extension to other & put it on hold its still playing from CUCM not from CME.. can any body tell what mistake im doing ??

Regards

Yes the issue is that when you use an H.323 gateway you don't want to use the telephony service configuration.

You will need to setup call manager fallback. Here is a sample config below to help:

Call-manager-fallback

moh music.au
multicast moh 239.1.1.1 port 16384 route 10.2.2.3 10.200.2.2 10.1.2.2

the route statement I have starts with the voice vlan, next the loopback address, then the data vlan. I hope this helps.

Hi steven,

I tried your solution but its still playing music-on-hold from CUCM ... i need to ask you that call-manager fallback we use if  we have SRST enable ....but in my case there is no SRST ... do you think it should work with your suggestion ???

Regards,

Hi,

Where exactly is the H.323 gateway situated? Is it on a remote site and the CUCM at the head quarters site? How do you know that the MoH is from the CUCM? Did you take packet captures and analyze them?

And for call-manager-fallback to work you need not have SRST to be active.

You said that when i call from one extension to other & put it on hold its still playing from CUCM not from CME, do you want MoH from CME or from H.323 gateway? Are the phones registered to CME or CUCM?

Please ensure that ccm-manager music-on-hold command is present in you config. Also make sure that the exit interfaces of the gateway has multicast routing enabled. Check for ip multicast-routing and ip pim sparse-dense-mode in your config

I have the same issue. Did you get MOH to work on the local voice gateway and away from CUCM servers clusters? thanks Jason

Guys beside the GW configuration for multicast, the

ccm-manager music-on-hold and the multicast moh 239.1.1.X port 16384 route x.x.x.x (add all the possible routes the MOH need to go to),

Make sure your CUCM its set for Multicast MOH.

ON the audio source make sure you allow multicasting, you have MOH server for multicasting with a maximun number of hups no bigger than your network path to the remote router and on the MRG with allow multicasting check box

Hi Anis.

"ccm-manager music-on-hold " comman should be added on the router in case you wanna play the moh,

now you have to add the "moh music-on-hold.au " command under call-manager-fallback or telephony service depending on the type of SRST you are using.

then , "multicast moh 239.1.1.1 port 16384 route XXXX XXXX " this will enable the multicast moh.

your phones should be in SRST mode in order for this file to work, if they are not in SRST mode, the phones are still registered to CUCM and moh of CUCM will play in that case.

thats what i think, please test it out and let us know ,if it worked or not.

Anurag
