I have been trying for weeks to get music on hold to work.  Can someone please be kind enough to tell me what I am doing wrong?  The Show Flash and the Telephony-Services portion of the running config are below.  Thank you for whatever help you can provide.

hi Edward,

Try using the sample audio file instead of  the customized file your using.

If  the sample audio file  works then  the  specs of the customized file need to be checked.

-Karthik

Sir,

Thank you for taking the time to respond.

Unfortunately, I have no idea what you are talking about.  What is a sample audio file?

I am using the IOS - - > c2801-ipvoicek9-mz.124-15.XY5.bin

I don't think this IOS has a sample audio file.

The .tar files have audio files when they are extracted.

If the image that I am using has a sample audio file, can you kindly tell me how to use it?

Thank you very much for your help.

The most likely problem is that the wav file you have uploaded is not in the correct format.

Convert the wav file to CCITT ulaw (g711ulaw) format.  8khz, 8-bit, mono.  Then try it again.

Configuring Music on Hold from an Audio File

To configure MOH when you are using a file to supply the audio stream, perform the following steps.

Prerequisites

SIP phones require Cisco Unified CME 4.1 or a later version.

A  music file must be in stored in the router's flash memory. This file  should be in G.711 format. The file can be in .au or .wav file format,  but the file format must contain 8-bit 8-kHz data; for example, ITU-T  A-law or mu-law data format.
