New IP phone and DN number

Hello,

An existing user has a DN number(1101) in our internal directory which is used via jabber for calls.

However, this user is now been given a cisco ip phone.
How should this user be migrated to use cisco ip phone with their existing DN number.

(user should still have 1101 as the number but on the ip phone)

Thanks for all help.

Use the same DN and configure the new desk-phone. When you choose the route partition under DN all the calling privileges from the existing DN will be fetched automatically.

You can add the phone and assign the same DN. In this case its called
shared DN and both Jabber and Deskphone will ring.

Once that is working fine, delete jabber phone. This won't break the
deskphone

Thanks , to test this i have added a DN to the phone. But i am unable to make or receive external calls.

But internal calls appear fine.

Is there a way to check & fix this issue please.

Is that number a DID?

perform basic troubleshooting for PSTN inbound calls, debug GW, review trunk config, CSS/partitions, etc.

remove the csf device for that user and configure the extension on the phone. (or use both which requires a different license). also associate the phone/user device profile with the user, so it can be used for dialing through jabber
