I have a ISR 4321 with iOS XE v16. This system has a NIM 4BRI NT/TE card with firmware v04.
Port 0 and 1 of the card is not functional due to lightning I suppose. I have replaced the card with a 2BRI NT/TE with firmware v03.
I have done a hard reset. and everything boots up perfectly.
Sh Inv show the 2BRI card
Sh Platform displays the card with status of OK
Sh Ver displays that I have 2 BRI ports available on the system
SH ip int brief shows layer 1 as up and layer 2 as down.
sh isdn stat shows layer 1 as deactivated.
Try as I might, I cannot get that status to change to activated.
I have done several hard resets. I have shutdown that card and restarted the card only, Nothing works.
On the 4BRI card, I have changed the configs to utilise port 2 and 3 and the ISDN layer 1 status is activated and layer 2 is awaiting TEI reply.
Same configs, same hardware. No layer 1 activation on the 2BRI card while the 4BRI works on port 2 and 3.
Is it possible that the backplane on the routerslots may be faulty on the channels responsible for port 0 and 1?
Please help
