No audio at remote sites

Hi All,

We have a Cisco CUCM 9.1 at the main office which is connected to a Cisco 2911 router that serves as CUBE as well as a router for internet access and VPNs.

At one of the remote sites we have a Cisco ASA5505 and a Cisco 7945 IP phone. Between the sites we have a Site-to-Site IPSec VPN.

Other user has a standard router at home and connects to the office using Cisco VPN client from his laptop and runs Cisco IP Communicator.

The problem:

- All remote users can call the office using local extensions fine and the sound works both ways just fine but if a remote user calls another remote user then there is no audio at all. We have to use external DDI to call from one site to another which works fine.

Any ideas?

Hi.

This is a normal behaviour, because RTP between endpoints is end to end and IP phone of remote user A should be able to reach ip phone user B directly.

This means that you should have two options:

- VPN from user A to HQ should include User B subnet in SA association and vice versa.

- A direct VPN between user A and user B

Many thanks. I have modified the access-lists and everything is good now.
