I have an EVM-HDA-8FXS/DID with an addional EM-HDA-8FXS expansion module addon module installed in the em0 slot giving total 16 FXS ports.
It is connected to a black box breakout panel, the problem is 4 of the FXS ports are not giving dial done - 1/0/0 thru 1/0/3, all the other ports working fine.
Comparing show voice port outputs from working/non working ports, show that the non working ports have the Tip Ground Status as active, no other differences in output, all ports are configured for loop start.
I also noticed in the log the following
Mar 9 09:04:49: Miscellaneous signaling debug data: (ch=8):
0004 0080 ABBA **
Mar 9 09:04:49: Miscellaneous signaling debug data: (ch=10):
0005 0080 ABBA **
Mar 9 09:04:49: Miscellaneous signaling debug data: (ch=12):
0006 0080 ABBA **
Mar 9 09:04:49: Miscellaneous signaling debug data: (ch=14):
0007 0080 ABBA **
Anyone ?
Thanks for help

As a follow up to my original post, is there any way to confirm that an FXS port is working on the EVM-HDA-8FXS/DID using cli.
I am trying to determine whether it could be a faulty cable or wiring problem on the breakout panel, when I do a show voice port summary all the FXS ports are up and dormant/idle. I want to rule out the FXS ports before doing an RMA on the breakout panel and x21 cable.
Thanks in advance

Hi,
do you have BB JPM2194A ? Can you disconnect the cable from the router, and verify that all ports go in same state and no signaling event is reported ?

Yes, it is the black box JPM2194A, disconnecting the cable from the router produces no console events, however I did notice in the log, when the router boots up the following
Mar 9 11:26:41: Miscellaneous signaling debug data: (ch=8):
0004 0080 ABBA **
Mar 9 11:26:42: Miscellaneous signaling debug data: (ch=10):
0005 0080 ABBA **
Mar 9 11:26:42: Miscellaneous signaling debug data: (ch=12):
0006 0080 ABBA **
Mar 9 11:26:42: Miscellaneous signaling debug data: (ch=14):
0007 0080 ABBA **
Whether that is related to it or not I do not know.
After removing the cable from the router and doing a show voice port summary all voice ports show :
1/0/0 -- fxs-ls up dorm on-hook idle y
1/0/1 -- fxs-ls up dorm on-hook idle y
1/0/2 -- fxs-ls up dorm on-hook idle y
1/0/3 -- fxs-ls up dorm on-hook idle y

1/0/13 -- fxs-ls up dorm on-hook idle y
1/0/14 -- fxs-ls up dorm on-hook idle y

Thanks for the quick response

Hi,
I would not worry about the messages thrown if it is only at boot time.
On the other hand, I understand that when you disconnect cable and patch panel, the port status changes (no more tip ground detected) and this alone is pointing to some fault, because the patch panel should be totally passive.

Update
This was resolved by swapping out the faulty x.21 cable from the EVM module to the breakout panel
Thanks
