Hello

We have a 8811 that i am trying to push new firmware to, as it wont register with CUCM.

on the phone there are no settings to place the Ip address of our alternate tftp server.

IP Telephony and Phones

Under ipv4 settings on there is only:

connection type

static ip address

subnet mask

gateway address

dns 1

dns 2

no mention of tftp, anywhere...

there is 'profile rule' under device administration but i believe this is for a config file, not firmware.

How can i get new firmware on this phone?

many thanks.

Sorry I am sure you already looked this up but are you saying this guide is wrong? Are you running 3PCC software on the phone or enterprise?

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/cuipph/8800-series/english/adminguide/P881_BK_C136782F_00_cisco-ip-phone-8800_series.pdf

The following is from the guide

Check TFTP Settings
Procedure
Step 1 On the Cisco IPPhone, press Applications , choose Adminsettings > Networksetup > Ethernetsetup >
IPv4 setup > TFTP Server 1.
Step 2 If you have assigned a static IP address to the phone, you must manually enter a setting for the TFTP Server
1 option.
Step 3 If you are using DHCP, the phone obtains the address for the TFTP server from the DHCP server. Check that
the IP address is configured in Option 150.
Step 4 You can also enable the phone to use an alternate TFTP server. Such a setting is particularly useful if the
phone recently moved from one location to another.
Step 5 If the local DHCP does not offer the correct TFTP address, enable the phone to use an alternate TFTP server.
This is often necessary in VPN scenario.

Hello Thanks for the Reply.

How Can i Check if i am running 3pcc or enterprise?

under product information the product name is : 'CP-8811-3PCC'  so i gues that means we're running 3PCC?

what are the implications of this?

There is no Application button, only a Cog which goes to settings.

there is no mention  TFTP under any of the settings menu.

many thanks

3PCC phones are not meant to run with CUCM. You will need to change to enterprise.

You can search around you will find alot of stuff on how to do it.  I believe the conversion was not allowed at one point now it was allowed with a license.

That was really helpful thank you very much.

You can provide the upgrade rule in the device webpage

http://deviceip/admin/advanced

Voice->Provisioning->Upgrade Rule

Thanks.

Hello,

I can't access that page, it just stays at a loading screen.
