test - ntp_clock_drift : Passed
test - ntp_stratum : Failed
The reference NTP server is a stratum 10 clock.
NTP servers with stratum 6 or worse clocks are deemed unreliable.
Please consider using an NTP server with better stratum level.

Please use OS Admin GUI to add/delete NTP servers.

Are you Using window based NTP server or Router based IOS NTP ?

As per the diagnostic test it’s Failed on NTP stratum value so reduce startum value on your NTP reference server.

Cisco highly recommends the use of a Stratum 1, Stratum 2, or Stratum 3 NTP server as the CUCM Publisher's external NTP reference. Any NTP source for the CUCM publisher MUST NOT be higher than stratum 4.

The external NTP servers defined for the CUCM Publisher node MUST be NTP v4 to avoid potential compatibility, accuracy, and network jitter problems. NTP version 4 is backward compatible with version 3; however, many issues were observed with attemps to use different NTP versions.

For more detail kindly check below link

https://community.cisco.com/t5/collaboration-voice-and-video/changing-the-ntp-source-in-cucm-from-cli-and-other-helpful/ta-p/3157615

Pls rate if its “Helpful”. If this answered your question please click “Accept As Solution”.

That result is self explanatory.

Whats your NTP status on Publisher server ? can you post it. is it synced ?  can you use a better ntp server.

Windows ntp servers are not supported by CUCM. if you are using windows you can do one thing sync your network device with a public NTP and use it as NTP server for CUCM.

i made my core SW as ntp server, and synced the  core with time.google.com

Core switch configuration mentioned below.

ntp master 2
ntp server time.google.com

CUCM ntp status

admin:utils ntp status
ntpd (pid 8704) is running...

I have just checked our NTP server is IOS best on the Cisco switch (that is our gateway).

I have checked it shows registered.

admin:utils ntp server list
172.16.0.10

What i understood, 172.16.0.10 is your NTP and its a cisco switch acting as a NTP server. is that correct ?  if correct,  the stratum value is kept 8 on Cisco switch. reduce that to 2. Use below command on 172.16.0.10 to change it to 2. And restart the ntp service on CUCM.

ntp master 2

Hi,

Thank you so much for the help but I have one more issue that is

from the same credentials, I'm able to log in to the web page but not able to log in from CLI.

Shall I use this command in GUI or CLI?

the last thing will it affect our work or shall I do it after work hours?

Is it related to your NTP issue ? or is it related to your other thread about tftp ?
