One way audio through isdn line

nybble2012
Level 1
Level 1

Hello all,

I have a 2801 router with C2801-advipservicesk9-mz.124-24.T5, CME 7.1 installed and an isdn vic2-2bri-nt/te card.

I'm trying to make phone calls with the ephones through and from the isdn line but in both cases i experience one way audio, the other party can hear me but i can't hear them.

The ephones communicate with each other with no problems..

I have tried to change between many codecs but the problem still persists.

The problem is only between isdn calls..

Any ideas what's going wrong?

Thanks.

Antony.

Update IOS and check again.

Hello again,

i updated to 151-4.m4 with CME 8.6  and still the same problem..I also replace the VIC2-2BRI-NT/TE card with a new one but nothing change..

Here is the debug isdn q931 output:

Any ideas?

Thanks again..

Antony

Ask telco to come on premises and verify that they can talk using their test equipment.

If that works you may have a faulty DSP module in router.

As per your debug, I see that your call isn't completed (normal clearing). Not sure whether you disconnected the call before connected state or something else.

We need the debugs for full call till connected stage. Once the call is connected, post the output of "show call active voice calling-number ..." and lets see RX/TX. Also, lets see controller stats.

Also, from your debugs I can see that the calling number sent to teleco is "1002" which I doubt it will be accepted. Therefore, your call will be dropped by teleco rather than completed.

You need to implement a voice translation rule or use dial-plan command to manipulate the calling number correctly.

"Please rate useful posts"

From your debugs I can see that the calling number sent to teleco is "1002" which won't be definitly accepted. Therefore, your call will be dropped by teleco rather than completed.

You need to implement a voice translation rule or use dial-plan command to manipulate the calling number correctly.

Do not assume that telco will not accept a calling number like that. They will simply replace it with the assigned number.

Thanks Paolo for highligting this. In fact I have seen only telecos who drop those calls. Good to know that some are replacing the calling number.

Thanks for sharing the info

It was my mistake the above debug because when i make a call i don't even hear the ring tone so i don't know if the other party answer the call.

The correct is this one:
