Outbound Calls keeps ringing on IP phone even when PSTN mobile is out of range or switched off.

Hi All,

I am running CUCM v 12.5.1. I have Extension mobility setup for the users.

When I try to make a regular outbound call to any working PSTN number, it works fine.

 

However, when I call to a mobile number which is switched off or out of coverage area, I keep hearing Ringbacks. Whereas, I should be hearing a provider message like "The number you are calling is switched off or out of coverage area".

 

I took debugs and all I can see is that the voice gateway receives Progress 3 times and then a Connect. The line stays connected for around 10 - 15 secs and then busy tone.

 

I am attaching the debugs herein. Has anyone come across a similar issue?

Make sure you have PRACK enabled on your SIP trunk profile in CUCM.
