Hi All
I would like to know how the enhanced licences work, we have users who have a desk phone and Jabber.
do you need a licence for each? or if you only use one at a time, for example if the user wants to use only Jabber, would I just log out the desk phone or would I need to delete the phone associated to that user off the system?
cheers

the phone itself needs an essential license, even before a user logs into that phone
for Jabber you need a CUWL license, because of the "two devices" allowed, you only need one CUWL license for both Jabber and desk phone.
CUWL Standard Unified Workspace Licensing (UWL)
license for Unified CM supports advanced (voice and video) call control features including desktop and mobile with maximum of two devices per user.

For clarification, every single device you configure in CUCM uses a licenses, it doesn't matter if you don't even use it, if it's unregistered, or if there is no user associated. You only stop using a license when you delete the device, or use a lower tier license, depending on the scenario.
You associate devices to a user so you can use your licenses and be able to associate more than one device to a user, with a single license.
