Hi All,
We are planning to upgrade our phones as 7965 has reached end of life. Please can you suggest what other phone models should be considered? and if 8851 will be a good choice in a long run. Many Thanks!!

It totally depends on your budget, there are many good option available. Just plan out this with your management for 3-4 options based on the budget.

Firstly: EOS hasn't been announced by Cisco for the 7965g. It is entirely supported including software fixes.
Secondly: A replacement to the 7965g depends on if you're looking for feature parity or if you want to support new options like video. If you're looking for feature parity and 16 line keys is enough, the 7861 is a good choice. Of course the DSP within these phones support newer codecs (not Opus though), and there are a few other improvements as well. Keep in mind that modern phones won't support EAP-MD5.
If you want to provision for video calls and\or need to support expansion modules, DX or 8800 may be a better fit. Here is the relevant expansion module:

Hi Nadav...Thanks a ton for your input but even though we don't need phones with video capability, for user's experience we need a colored phone display. Hence it'll be very helpful if you can suggest few more phone models in those lines. Also, I found 8851 has USB firmware and mild power fluctuation intolerance. Thanks again!

Check out the Cisco phone brochure:
A good replacement for the 7965 is the 8851 since it offers everything you had before including expansion modules.
There aren't too many options for replacing your phone. The only modern colorful phones which support line key expansion modules are 8851, 8861 and 8865, and if you don't need two USB ports, WiFi or built in camera, that leaves you with 8851.

Thank you all for your feedback. Has anyone had any experience with Cisco IP Phone 8811?

You should check the specifications and features of 8811 in the datasheet and see if it meets your requirements
