Does anyone know if it's possible to disable VAD/CNG when using g.729 with Unity? We have CCM4.1(3) and Unity 4.0(5) with TSP Version 8.1(3) and when callers on the WAN collect their messages g.729 is negotiated, the RTP stream from the IP phone is g.729 with VAD disabled, the RTP stream from Unity to the phone has VAD enabled and is generating comfort noise. This can be seen from an Ethereal/Wireshark trace. I can't find anything obvious in Unity Tools Depot or the registry.
Any ideas?
The customer is complaining they can't hear their messages properly (I haven't heard it myself), with g.711 it's fine but they have limited bandwidth so this is not an option. QoS is working and ordinary calls over the WAN using g.729 are fine. Phones are all 7940s.
