I've been deploying IPC 8.6.1.4 for several months now on both Windows 7 and XP Pro. I know that to set the network preferences you need to run the program as an administrator in Windows 7 to adjust the TFTP servers and device settings. Recently, I've been seeing a problem where if you set the preferences as an administrator (either by doing a "Run As" or by logging in as an admin) the preferences don't always carry over to the non-admin user. Usually what I see is the settings are correctly set as an admin but the grayed out settings as the user are either blank or incorrect. Is there a way to manually set the user's setting in the registry or is there a way to lift the restriction on the end user not being able to set these preferences?

Hi Karl.
You have to modify the following windows registry key:
TftpServer1
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Cisco Systems, Inc.\Communicator.
The value should be the TFTP server ip address in inverted decimal format. (Eg. TFTP Server Address is 10.20.30.40 you have to convert in decimal value the following IP 40.30.20.10)
This is one of many links that you can find on the net.

Absolutely yes.
In the same registry path add a key named HostName with an ascii value which begin with SEP followed by the real or casual mac address of the pc where ipc is installed on.
HTH
