Hi,

We have CUCM 7.1, Unity Connection 7.0, CUPS 7.0, CUPC 7.0, IP phone 7911, 7965, 6921

We have voice mail, hard phone and CUPC for all users.

We want to activate same Voice mail box on CUPC & IP phone. So that whenever any Voice mail comes on particular number, Voice mail indicator should work on ip phone as well as CUPC. User should able to retrive voice mail either IP phone or CUPC.

So can any one help me how to achieve this requirement ?

Regards,

Nimit

Hi William,

Thanks for your support.

Can you let me know to have voice mail notification on CUPC from Unity Connection, IMAP is required ?

Regards,

Nimit

CUPC uses IMAP protocol to download voicemail from Unity Connection.  You need to make sure IMAP feature was enabled for the user (class).

Hi,

Thanks for your support.

I have firewall between Unity Connection & CUPC client.

So if CUPC required IMAP protocol for downloading Voice mail from Unity Connection, i required to open IMAP port on firewall. right ?

If i only need to have an indication of new voice mail on CUPC, still IMAP is required ?

Regards,

Nimit

There's no separate "indication" feature for CUPC.

CUPC has to download the voicemail before it gives you the indication.  Yes, you need to open IMAP port on firewall (TCP 143)

Hi,

Thanks for your support.

I have done the IMAP config on Unity Connection & IMAP port is open between CUPC client & Unity Connection.

On presence server also i have configured Voice mail server, Mailstore & Voice mail profile.

But after above configuration still no success....:(

Is there anything else required to configure ?

Regards,

Nimit

Hi

Check 'Server Health' in the CUPC client - check that when you click on the voicemail section you have the correct info.

Also in the 'Preferences' menu within the client, the user has to specify the username and pasword to connect to IMAP.

Hi Aaron,

Thanks for support.

In server health check its showing Voicemail - not connected.

After specifying the same user ID & password of the Voicemail user it shows - invalid username or user account locked.

Nimit

Hi

Can you try logging in with the username and password you are using there, but via Outlook Express or another IMAP client?

Hi Aaron,

can you clarify that username and password which needs to be specify in CUPC preference as well as Outlook client are of user in Unity connection ?

Regards,

Nimit

The username is the end user of Unity Connection (not necessarily the extension number)

The password is the "Web Application" password when you edit the password for an end user in Unity Connection. (not necessarily the voicemail PIN).

I suggest you take a look at http://www.lulu.com/content/5552336 for basic testing procedures.

Hi,

Thanks for the valuable info.

We have imported all users in Unity Connection from CUCM. So we have to configure Web Application password manually for all users and the same need to be manually configure on all CUPC client.

CUCM has been integrated with LDAP. So is it possible to have same password of LDAP ?

Regards,

Nimit

Yes.  That is possible.  You'll have to configure LDAP authentication on your Unity Connection.  So you just have to configure the password on the client side.

On CUPC 8.x, you'll have the option to default the client side password to the LDAP password, which make no configuration required.

Hi,

Thanks for support.

So as i understand, after integrating LDAP with Unity Connection user have to specify LDAP credentials in CUPC client for voice mail on CUPC.

If user will change the password of LDAP, will it automatically replicate on CUPC or user again manually needs to enter the changed password in CUPC ?

Regards,

Nimit
