Hi,

Believe me it's a provider issue.

Provider sends a RX, 'channel not available'. Provider has to tell you why they send this message. There must be a reason for it. And again, THEY send this message! Not you!

Several years ago I had a similar issue, and customer wanted to throw out Cisco, because provider says they are not blocking channels etc, finally customer wanted to sue provider, and then provider changed some equipment and all was solved.

And 1 year ago, with another customer, same issue. Provider says, they don't block channels, I told my customer, that it is a problem with the provider, and I can do nothing, and it's up to customer and provider.

After a week or so engineer from provider comes on site, does something and viola, it works! (a year without issues now)

Good luck!

Bye,

Jan

Hi Tommy,

I can see lot of slips and error seconds in E1 controller output.

Please check the clocking [network clock-participate] as suggested by Nadeem as well.

regds,

aman

Is it possible to change the cable and check as i can see slips and brust errors on this controllers.

Hi Tommy,

please refer the link on similar problem

https://supportforums.cisco.com/message/4002473#4002473

there is a bug

T1 interface behavior inconsistent across WIC Modules

CSCua50697

Symptoms: After unplugging and reconnecting a T1 cable, the T1 controller
remains down or report continuous errors. After a router reload, the T1
controller remains up until the cable is disconnected again.

Conditions: This symptom affects only the following cards: HWIC-xCE1T1-PRI,
NM-8CE1T1-PRI, VWIC3-xMFT-T1/E1, and GRWIC-xCE1T1-PRI.
Also, the T1 signal must be somewhat out-of-specification according to T1.403
standards.

Workaround 1: Reload the router with the T1 cable plugged in.

Workaround 2:
Step 1) Upgrade to a fixed-in Cisco IOS version.
Step 2) Issue the following commands (hidden, so tab complete will not work):

enable
config t
controller ! ( example: controller t1 0/0/0 )
hwic_t1e1 equalize

Step 3) Shut/no shut the T1 controller, or reload the router to allow the CLI to
take effect.

Hi Tommy,

can u share the output of show network-clock as well?

regds,

Hi Aman ,

here is the network clock configuration

Network Clock Configuration

    10          Backplane       GOOD            PLL

  Current Primary Clock Source

  ---------------------------

Priority      Clock Source    Clock State     Clock Type

    10          Backplane       GOOD            PLL

Regards,

Tommy

Hi Tommy,

ideally , the output should be somewhat like this

sh network-clocks

  Network Clock Configuration

  ---------------------------

Priority      Clock Source    Clock State     Clock Type

     1          E1 0/3/0        GOOD            E1

    10          Backplane       GOOD            PLL

  Current Primary Clock Source

  ---------------------------

Priority      Clock Source    Clock State     Clock Type

     1          E1 0/3/0        GOOD            E1

it seems that clock is not coming.

can you configure the command network-clock-select 1 E1 0/3/0  and then, share again output?

regds,

aman
