Problem matching inbound dialpeer on H.323 GW

Hi All:

I need an extra pair of eyes to look at this configuration for H.323 gateway.

PSTN>FXOTRUNK>PLAR>AA

Inbound calls are routed correctly but match dialpeer 0 and I am suspecting codec issue. Should this dial-peer 1 not match all calls on the inbound call leg prior to the outbound call leg to the AA? There are no translation patterns in the running configuration even though they are showing in the dialpeer.

Your dial peer 1 pots is allocated to a trunk group called ALL_FXO.

Looking at your voice ports NONE of then are in that trunk group.

Just for a test can you change the trunk group on dial peer 1 to ALL_FXO 1

Then retest

Hi Alex,

when i first looked at the voice ports i was thinking exactly the same thing, so i checked the options of that command and it was a preference.

So the voice ports are in order of preference from 1-4 but the trunkgroup is ALL_FXO. This must be true because all dialpeers outbound have ALL_FXO as well and calls work.

Im wondering when the outbound call leg is established there is a codec g711 command on dial peer 1000 - even though inbound call matches dial peer 0, would it even matter since it matches outbound dial peer 1000 on its way to AA and gets its codec there?

BUT still dont know why dial peer 0 is matching inbound! Does the direct-inward-dial have to match the incoming called number . on the same dialpeer?

Hi Johnsnow,

My understanding is if it is an FXO you dont need a dial-peer to match incoming call because it's already taken care of the connection plar opx under the voice-port. Try removing the dial-peer voice 1 pots and make a call. Without that the call should still work.

Thanks, I have not thought about that on the PLAR. I will have to play with that configuration.

I tested some calls again and could see the call end to end successfully. I found out during this troubleshooting there was no AA application on the other end, it was terminating to UC mailbox. So the outbound call leg to CM dial peer gets used in this case and uses the g711 codec, no vad configuration as configured so that is what I wanted to see.
