Problems with dutch locale

According to the manuals CCME 4.1 should have the dutch locale build-in for the 7940-7960 phone. But as soon as I boot these phones they need to have following files:

Netherlands/7960-font.xml

Netherlands/7960-kate.xml

Netherlands/7960-tones.xml

It says: "Error updating locales"

Ofcourse these files don't exist in these folders because I can't download them for the dutch locale, since they should be build-in in the IOS.

Anyone any idea's?

Hi, can you check output of "show telephony-service" ? The dictionary should be in there.

Hi,

I am trying to implement dutch locale in one of my Nederland sites.

Could you please help me?

1) My callmanager setup is in UK and Nederlands is the remote site. Nederlands people require the Dutch and English languages on their phone. Where and how I can implement this setup?

2) Will the Dutch users get added to the Corporate Directory or will there be a separate directory?

Would be most thankful if I get the reply as soon as possible.

Many thanks,

Mady

Hi Mady,

I seem to remember that you've already received an answer to your questions in another thread, so perhaps you can locate it with the search function of the forum,

Hi, as mentioned above if you do "show telephony-service tftp-bindings" you will see which localization files are made available to phones. The one with the translated strings is 7960-dictionary.xml.

I'm using an external TFTP server.

But the problem is that the Dutch locale is supposed to be included within the IOS (at least for the 7940-60) and shouldnt require any further configuration. I never had to install any locale files before on other systems similar to this (they worked just fine). But I dont know what is going wrong.

Hi, if you use an external tftp server, you will need to copy the files above from the router into your tftp server. This is the way "embedded in ios" works.

hope this helps, please rate post if it does!

Okay, it is indeed the first time that I use an external tftp with dutch locales. But where do I get these files? When I download "CME-locale-nl_NL-4.1.0.0.tar" it only contains files for the Java enabled phones like the 7941 and 7961....

Do the command I've twice mentioned above: "show telephony-service tftp-bindings". Locate the files you need and copy them via regular copy command.

CCME#show telephony-service tftp-bindings

There are no files, which is, in my opinion, right since I use the external TFTP server ("cnf-file location TFTP tftp://192.168.1.1/").

But i know where you were looking for. The files are located in "system:/its/netherlands", but these files are 0 kb in size and dont have anything in them. Even when I copy them to my external tftp server.

Hi, do configure user-locale, network-locale and a fictions ephone, the files will appear.

In fact the files are not loaded anymore after the phone has switched to a new locale.
