Publisher failed, need advice on restoring

Hello everyone--recently, my customer lost their CM publisher server.  After replacing the motherboard, we get a hardware incompatible message (which is guess is common from what i've read)...so we're getting a replacement server.  My question is this--I was told by another engineer at a partner company that all i need to do is move the hard drives over to the new server and it should take off, but my concern with that is the RAID configuration--does it reside on the hard disk(s) or will this work at all?  My other concern is restoring the publisher from backup.  They've got a good backup from a few days before it went down, but I can't find any procedures on restoring it...is there anything special that needs done to prep or do i just run the restore from DRS and it should work?  The CM version is 7.1.3.

thanks.

Hi Scott,

The steps are shown in the section named

Restoring the First Node only (Rebuilding the Publisher Alone)

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/drs/7_1_2/drsag712.html#wp72076

Don't forget that you will need to reach out to

licensing@cisco.com

to re-host the license files to the new Publisher MAC.

Cheers!

Rob

Haha--thanks (again) Rob. I googled the DRS guide, but when I went back

and looked it was for CUCMBE (which explains why I didn't see anything

about the pub...).

Once again, you are the man.
