Random Dialing with 7970G IP phones

Hello all ,

I am having a issue where a person will pick up their handset or push their speakerphone button to make a call, and it dials either the last call or the last missed call. This has happened before after a CUCM upgrade, but we issued a reset and that solved it. Now After we issue the reset to the phone, it will start to occur again after maybe 1 hour on average. Not quite sure what is causing this and if there is any solution.

We are using CUCM System version: 8.5.1.12900-7

the 7970 phones are on Firmware SCCP70.9-3-1-1S

any help is appreciated. Thank you

Hi Geoffrey,

To test if this is a hardware fault or software fault I would change the phone with another see if the same thing happens, if it doesn't then its the phone and if i does then it's the software running the phone.

No hardware fault can cause random dialing.

As mentioned before, it's a cisco bug, check
