Hi All,
This is a weird issue. Please see exact description below:
One site has its main phone number as 90xx xxxx, this site complains that random people call back on the main phone number and inform that they had received a call from this number and they are returning the call. The site manager says that this happens when anybody from other sites call external phone numbers which instead of displaying the actual number somehow displays the 90xxxxxx on the mobile screen.
I checked the translation rules on the voice gateway and uccx and do not see any such masking or translation rule in place. Also testing shows that the receiver mobile displays the correct phone number and looks like the issue is random. Does this mean that somebody might have duplicated the site number and turned the number for rogue usage ? How to go about this ?

It is possible this is your BTN number and other caller IDs are being overwritten with this number at the telco level, if you dont see this in the debug messages on the voice GW, then that is the case. What is your PSTN connection type, SIP, PRI, etc?

The connection is PRI. The issue seems to happen only when an external mobile phone number is called from corporate mobile phone number (These numbers are registered for organizational usage only). So the call in now way goes through the PRI or Cisco call manager systems. It seems like an issue at the Telco level. Thus as you mentioned this might be due to the BTN issue but how can this be rectified ?
