Recommended sequence for restarting csco telephony servers

Hi All,

What is the recommended sequence for the shutting down and restarting of Publisher, Subscriber, UCCX, Presence and Unity servers. The phones are currently registered to the subscriber.

I've been using this sequence and it's worked well:

1. CUCM
2. IMP
3. CUC
4. PCP
5. Paging Server

There is no specific order you need to follow, so it's really up to you, if you don't care about keeping up redundant services while servers are rebooting you can do all of them at the same time.

Hi Rahul,

If it is only a simple reboot and does not involve any switch version or cop file install scenario then as Chris mentioned it really does not matter. It is however good if you restart the Publisher first and then the subscribers. If the reboot involves switching version or any platform changes then you should check the compatibility of all apps to ensure they remain compatible and are rebooted in the same maintenance window.
