Suddently we had problem on 1 of the 2 BRI connection, when we passed incoming calls we have only 1 ring tone and the call is dropped. In Q931 debug we have the following on BRI 0/0/0:

May 15 10:23:32.309: ISDN BR0/0/0 Q931: RX <- SETUP pd = 8  callref = 0x72

Sending Complete

Bearer Capability i = 0x8090A3

Standard = CCITT

Transfer Capability = Speech

Transfer Mode = Circuit

Transfer Rate = 64 kbit/s

Channel ID i = 0x89

Exclusive, B1

Calling Party Number i = 0x2183, '476630613'

Plan:ISDN, Type:National

Called Party Number i = 0xA1, '71239900'

Plan:ISDN, Type:National

High Layer Compat i = 0x9181

May 15 10:23:36.337: ISDN BR0/0/0 Q931: RX <- SETUP pd = 8  callref = 0x72

May 15 10:23:40.517: ISDN BR0/0/0 Q931: TX -> RELEASE_COMP pd = 8  callref = 0xF2

If I put the cable on BRI 0/0/1 the call succeeds. I check on this forum, and I already found the same answer about the timer. But here, both interfaces are configured in the same way, so what is your advice?

Thanks,

Hervé Jacquemin

Since you are using MGCP, whaever you configuire on router doesn't matter.

MGCP for BRI works poorly, you should use H.323 or SIP instead.

Hi Paolo,

I read many times on that forum MGCP "sucks" for BRI, but I'm allowed to change the configuration.

What is really strange, it was working and fine, and suddenly we had the problem.

Is it possible the case is a hardware problem ?

Try reloading router. That is also a good occasion to update IOS.
