Reduce Dial-Peer Timeout preference on POTS

Hi all,

I have a Voice Gateway h323, and it has 2 E1 VWIC Cards Conected to 2 Different PSTN Carriers, I've experiencing intermitences on the CO Company Service and I decide to Add for each dial-peer, a copy with a preference of 2 for backup,

The problem here is that it take about 10 seconds to jump to the back up dial-peer.

Example:

dial-peer voice 124 pots

preference 1

destination-pattern 906.

port 0/1/1:0

prefix 06

no register e164

dial-peer voice 125 pots

preference 2

destination-pattern 906.

port 0/1/0:0

prefix 06

no register e164

I know there is a h225 command for Voice Dial-peers, but that can´t be applied to Pots dial-peer.

voice class h323 1

h225 tcp timeout establish 3

How can I reduce the timeout establis for pots dial-peers?

Reggards.

Hi,

Try adding

!

dial-peer outbound status-check pots

!

This will stop the gateway looking at the outgoing dial peer if the voice port is down

Alex.
