Trying to figure out if it is possibe to release an extension for use again for auto-assign once a phone is unplugged. I test phones, mainly 79xx series, and it gets old fast having to do no ephone 1 2 3 ... when all of the extensions have been handed out.

Hi Zach,
I don't think such a functionality is feasible, as this would result is wiping out configuration even in case of following scenarios:
> ethernet cable gone bad
> someone accidentally unplugging the phone
> if the port to which the ip phone is connected is shut administratively or if it goes bad

Ah, understandable. Thanks anyway.

You could probably write an EEM or TCL script to remove the ephone configuration once the ephone unregistration log message is printed.

Never thought of that. Thanks for the idea.
