Remote Logging Settings for 8821

I am trying to set up remote logging for an 8821 phone for troubleshooting purposes, but I cannot seem to be able to set this up correctly. Per the deployment guide:

Log Server: This parameter specifies an IP address and port of a remote system where log messages are sent. The format is:xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:ppppp@@options. Options will be format as base=x;pfs=y; base value range is 0~7,pfs value range is 0~1. And the two parameters are optional. Absence of pfs or base, pfs will be set to the default value 0 and base will be set to the default value

Can any one tell me what the base and pfs are? I want to point our logs to facility 7 on server 10.25.13.10 on port 514. So I assumed that the set up would be something like 10.25.13.10:514@7. I am not sure if this looks right, but it is not working. Also, there is a field on the device configuration page that is : "Log Profile". It lists 3 options Default, Preset, and Telephony. I cannot find any documentation that explains this in detail.

Any helps is appreciated.

Hi Adan,

As per the following link

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/cuipph/8800-series/english/adminguide/P881_BK_C136782F_00_cisco-ip-phone-8800_series/P881_BK_C136782F_00_cisco-ip-phone-8811-8841_chapter_01011.html

PFS is actually the peer firmware sharing feature, the format for the address is:

address:<port>@@base=<0-7>;pfs=<0-1>

Try something like below in your case

10.25.13.10:514@@pfs=0
