Hi Eveyone,
I’m in the process of replacing some older phones (7945 and 7965) and I’m a bit undecided between moving to the newer 9841/9861 series or going with the 8841.
If you’ve used these models, I’d really appreciate hearing your experiences and recommendations.
Thanks in advance

The 8800 series was introduced in 2013, making those models more than a decade old at this point. Cisco is delaying end of sale to the extent practical (e.g., component availability) to support existing customers that have an established standard. The 9800s are the generational replacement and, in my opinion, are the correct choice from this point forward. There are significant differences - but there were also big changes between the 7900 and 8800 generations.
The 8800s have also had price increases to encourage folks to move toward the 9800s. So unless you’re looking to spend more money…

The 9800 series is the right step forward because it’s the newer generation and will continue to get longer-term support from Cisco. The 8800s are reliable, but they’re already over 10 years old and approaching end-of-sale. If you want to invest in gear that’s future-proof and supported for years to come, 9800 is the safer choice. If budget is the only concern, 8800 can still serve, but the 9800s give you a clear path for the future

In my opinion, the 98XX is a better option than the 88XX, as others have suggested.
