I Have a client requirement in which they want the following:

1. implement the central site with BE 6000, and "n" number of remote sites  with "CME", after the IP WAN connectivity is done in the near future, they want the CMEs to convert to remote site Gateways with SRST enabled on them, responding and controlled by the BE 6000 on the main central site.

What do i need to have in terms of licensing, design and configuration.

From licensing perspective the CME and SRST licenses are inter-changeable, so you will be able to re-purpose them as SRST licenses, you will need to purchase BE6K licenses though.

As to design you should design your environment as centralized call processing with distributed deployment as nicely described in SRND. One of the more important aspects will be dial plan, so make sure you design all of your sites with enterprise dial plan in mind.

Hi Shaik,

In additon to what MR Chris has said, you also need to look into the remote routers for supporting number of IP phones.check for SRST version.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cusrst/requirements/guide/srs10spc.html

Also, u need to do configuration in the call manager for SRST under device pool.

  • add SRST Reference
  • assign SRST reference to IP phones through Device Pool
