Hey Everyone,
I'm dealing with a strange ringback issue, and was wondering if anyone else had some ideas. I'm using CM 4.1.3, 3825 gateway running 12.4(24)T4, and IPCC 4. This is the call flow:
PSTN ---> H323 Gateway ----> translation pattern ------> CTI RP -----> IPCC
So when I have this call flow, outside callers only get 1 ringback and then silence until the call is picked up. The ip phone rings normally. Of course, this is confusing callers when they're not getting proper ringback.
If I call the CTI RP internally, the ringback is normal. If I change the translation pattern to just point to a hunt pilot in CM then ringback in normal. This seemed to indicate an issue with the gateway. I was running older 12.4 code so I moved to 12.4(24)T4, but that had no affect.
The other strange thing is that I have other numbers taking this same call flow, but the ringback is fine for them. It's only 1 number that I'm having a problem with.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi Jake,
Do all the inbound numbers translate to the same route point ? If not you may want to check the IPCC script has the correct configuration for that route point.
Are you using E1/T1

Hi Dave,
The call routes properly. What specific settings in the configuration in the script should I check for?
Thanks,
Jake

What does your script do with the call ? Does the call get answered straight away by IPCC then present the caller with options. I.E 1 for this 2 for that ?
Once the caller makes a decision and presses 1 or 2 ringback is usually generated by the annunciator until the call is answered. Does the route point for this number use the same MRGL as the others.

Dave

Actually, all the script does is a time check. It routes to different extensions based on time of day and holiday.

Does the incoming number translate to the same route point as the other numbers which have no issues ?

Yes it does.

Have you tried translating your incoming number to a physical IP phone to see if ringback is generated ?

Yes, I have. I get the proper ringback when I send it to a physical phone. That's what I'm doing right now as a workaround.

Is it ISDN30

Yup, it's a PRI

You might want to restart the Cisco ip voice media streaming APP on your tftp server and try again.

Just did that and I'm getting the same result.
Weird, huh?
