Hello Dears,

Where exactly the Ringback wav file is located in CUCM?

I am asking this question related to one of post on CSC where user asked to replace ringback tone with some other tone. I looked at TFTP files where i found some ringback wave file but these files are not used when phones call each other within a cluster.

admin:file list tftp united_states/AnnRingBack*
AnnRingBack.alaw.wav                    AnnRingBack.g729.wav
AnnRingBack.ulaw.wav                    AnnRingBack.wav
AnnRingBack.wb.wav                      AnnRingBack.xml
dir count = 0, file count = 6

I looked at TFTP and IP Voice Media Streaming traces but didn't find any clue even i had changed all these ringback files with a exactly the same format and same length( its a lab for testing) but that didn't work also.

So my question is who provides ringback tone a phone ? If its Annunciator then from where is pulled those wave files ?

Thanks

Manish

Ringback tone is played by the phone itself.

You can NOT change the ringback files for anything else, you would require root access to do so, and it would not be supported.

Annunciator only provides ringback in certain situations.  Usually the phone plays its own internal ringback audio file.  Even if you could replace those annunciator files, it would still only replace ringback for some calls.
