So over the weekend while looking at another somewhat related issue, I noted that when I make a test call (g729) from a phone in a remote office to central office, the "show policy-map interface" command showed a 5 minute (output) offer rate of 53,000 bps. I kept the call active for 15 minutes, and the average remained at 53 kbps. I know this was the only call in the remote office going through the WAN as when I terminate the call, the PQ would dwindle to 0 bps. I also know the call was G729 as per the IP Phone statistics screen (which reflects the CUCM Regions configuration. I also validated this through RTMT Performance Mon, Locations screen.
I would expect 28 kbps per call for G729 (8 kbps plus overhead). Can someone perhaps explain the discrepancy?
