As per the UCCX 9.0(2) software compatibility matrix, Windows 8 or 8.1 is not supported for Editor
Same is the case for UCCX 10.5
Got the ccx editor 10.5 to install on windows 8.1 by installing with compatibilty mode but it wont. i have tried hard....moving on to look for a windows 7 machine.
Im running on Windows 8.1.
Compatibility mode for Windows 7
Run this program as Administrator
Edit hosts file
[IP of UCCX Server] FQDN of UCCX Server
Didn't work overhere, CCX Editor for UCCX 10.5. Installed fine with compatibility mode for Windows 7 but starting the application did not, UCCX server is in hosts file.
Uninstall is now stuck on Registry entries.
As stated, this didn't work for me, the issue was due to two bugs:
Now it works fine (on IP address), DNS still needs to work though to enable repository browsing.
Odd. I did a clean install of Windows 10 recently and was able to install CCX Editor by making the host file modification and running the install in compatibility mode for Windows 7 and as Administrator. Once installed, it runs natively. We are running 10.6(1) which may be the key difference here
I tried this on a couple of different Windows 10 and Server 2008 machines without success. Was finally successful on Windows 10 by logging in as a local admin of the machine. Changed the properties of the install executable to Windows XP SP3 and run as an admin. Works fine on Windows 10 PC now. By comparison I noticed that the failure seemed to have something to do with the Java folder in the recommended install folder in Program Files (x86)\wfavvid_1061 (java did not install in this folder until I used admin permissions) If that folder is blank, the files did not extract and the installed program does not show up in the installed programs folder.
