Can you give the same number to both your softphone and your hardware desktop phone and if so how do you do it

I've been setting up multiple devices for hundreds of users due to this pandemic, and wanted to mention, that as you give users multiple devices, this could affect your licensing.  I was associating these devices with my end users, which was moving them from my standard licensing up to CUWL licensing, which we have a limited supply of.

Please note that -especially now- if your CUCM is under contract, you may request for a number of demo licenses for a certain period of time to avoid licensing issues.
