SCCP Phone-Type Templates and max-presentation

Can anyone clarify exactly what the command "max-presentation number" achieves when configuring phone templates in CME?

In the comand reference it states it is to set the number of call presentation lines supported by the phone type. I have no idea what a call presentation line is :-).

Apparently a 7937G, conference station can have 6.

Any assistance welcome.
