We're running CUCM 8.5, and I'm fairly new to the product.
Someone at our organization made an outbound call to a certain phone number. What's the easiest way to search for where that call originated? I know I can export the CDR records to a flatfile and search, but I was hoping for something easier. I found the CDR Analysis and Reporting page, with CDR search. But it seems I can only specify the internal phone number, but search for dialed number?

you can definitely specify and search for the external number in the CDR search, and that would be best way to go about it.
