Hi,
I want to replace a server with a new server.
The CM version is 6.0.1 and it is a publisher only; no subs
I have restored several times a backup and normally this doesn't give a problem because I have all the information.
In this case I don't have the following information:
DNS server (if any)
DNS domain (if any)
NTP server (if any)
SMTP server (if any)
Time zone
Anything related to the web-security (Organization, Location, State etc)
All other information (username/password, network parameters) I have, plus new licenses.
Is this information enough to restore the publisher?
Thanks,
JH

Hi JH,
The only info that might trip you up is the lack of the DNS/NTP
settings. If the old box is still active you should be able to pull off those
settings. The steps are described in the link below;
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/install/6_1_1/cluster/clstr611.html#wp100130
Cheers!

Hello Rob,
Thank you for your reply.
The issue is that the server has crashed, and I haven't installed this box.
Normally when I do the installation I take all info and file it.
Do you know if in the CCM backup file (the tar files) I might find this info?
Thanks,
Jan

JH,
Please have a look at: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/install/6_1_1/cluster/clstr611.html
You will also need a new license for the Publisher since the License is based on the MAC address of the Publisher.
Pierre.

Hi Jan,
I'm not sure about the .tar files and I have no access right now
Is there any person on site who does any admin? You may be able to determine
from them if they accessed CUCM via Hostname or IP address. This would
answer part of the DNS question. You may have to kick off the re-build to see
if and when it fails along with the errors that are generated.
Cheers!

Hello Rob,
I think I will just start rebuilding and we shall see.
The issue is that I have to install a 6.0.1.2000 and then upgrade to 6.0.1.3000
And this will take hours
As for the admin people, they don't really exist at this site
Thanks for your help,
Jan

Hey Jan,
Don't forget that you can install the patch to 6.0.1.3000 during the build This
may save you some time at least.
Best of luck!
Cheers!
Rob
