Set speed dial from phone

Hi,

I see in below links that users could set the phone speed dial from the phone itself with no need to login to self care portal

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/cuipph/8800-series/english/user-guide/P881_BK_C3A802A0_00_cisco-ip-phone-8800-user_guide/P881_BK_C3A802A0_00_cisco-ip-phone-8800-user_guide_chapter_01.html#task_86DC093394B25E3E86EC7F238E3AFD5D

Below steps

Add a Speed Dial Button from Your Phone

You can configure a speed dial button from your phone, if you cannot access the Self Care Portal.

This feature is supported on the Cisco IP Phones 8800 Series and the following key expansion modules:

  • Cisco IP Phone 8800 Key Expansion Module

  • Cisco IP Phone 8851/8861 Key Expansion Module

  • Cisco IP Phone 8865 Key Expansion Module

A Reset All clears any speed-dial buttons that are created from your phone.

Procedure

Step 1

Press and hold a line key for 2 seconds.

Step 2

In the Name field, enter the name of the speed-dial number.

Step 3

In the Number field, enter the phone number. Include all the digits that are required to complete the call.

Step 4

Select Apply to save your speed-dial number.

Also on below link, from this part of the page: Through the Phone

I have 8841 and 8845 but can't do that

Only through ccm admin and self care portal

Do I need to enable any thing ?

Thanks

2nd link is for MPP/3PCC devices? Are you running that code?

If not, then that means you're not running the enterprise FW version with that feature

Hi Jaime,

Thanks for your reply

Can I upgrade my SIP firmware to Multiplatform firmware for 8841 Phones with cucm 11.5 ?

Or it requires specific phones .

And there is no way to configure speed dials from the phone itself without using any 3rd party custom service ?

Thanks

Haitham

Did you read the link I posted????

And no, there's no migration from enterprise to 3PCC, or the other way around.

Not to mention that if you have a 3PCC phone, you're not supposed to use it with CUCM, because as the name implies, they're meant for 3rd Party Call Control.

Why you imagine if I read the link

Sure I read it and it didn't mention anything about 3PCC nor 3MPP

I found on Cisco SW download page 3MPP firmware. So I asked to confirm me if we can move to this or not. that's only

Any way

Thanks for your replies
