Setup Cisco CP 7821 vs SPA 504G

Hi,

We have some 504G phones which we have configured the networking and SIP properties via its internal webserver.  and these work nicely.

However we are also stuck with many new CP7821 phones, which does not seem to have internal webservers.  Can we configure these via some Cisco configuration utility just to set their basic properties (SIP server and auth etc) so we can use them as we use our 504G phones?   We don't need a complete phone and call management system like CCM or the like.

Thanks a lot for help on how to setup these phones either by using dedicated software or upload config via TFPT.

best regards Tor

you need Multiplatform phone firmware.

Great.  Do we need to pay some license or fee to be entitled to convert the firmware?  If yes, what is the approximate cost per unit?

Devices with enterprise FW are expected to be used with a Cisco call control, there is no config utility or anything of the sort. You would need to manually configure all the required files in the format the phone would expect them from Cisco call control. The do have a web server, which you need to enable via the aforementioned configuration files, but the GUI is a VIEW ONLY GUI in which you can only see the status of the device or retrieve logs.

If the phones are new, you should discuss with the vendor returning those and buying the 3PCC/MPP variant which has a config GUI.

If they're not new, or they cannot change them for 3PCC/MPP devices, you can migrate from enterprise to 3PCC/MPP, fees may apply, all details at upgrade.cisco.com

If you still want to use them with the enterprise FW, there are hundreds of threads in the community you can use as reference.

If you do not have any call control for device registration and wish to use the devices as standalone and call via the IP, then you need 3PCC/MPP devices, enterprise FW does not have such feature.
