Shared Lines Between CP-8841 Phones and Gateway Ports

Good Afternoon,

We have a department that shares one of their telephone extensions between their CP-8841 phones and an analog port for a cordless phone.  Even though the maximum number of calls on the analog port is set to 2, it gets a regular busy signal if any single one of the 8841s are using the line.  Is there a way around this or do I just need to give them an 8821 in place of the cordless?

Thanks

Dale Shew

Whats the Busy Trigger on the lines ?

This setting, which works in conjunction with Maximum Number of Calls and Call Forward Busy, determines the maximum number of calls to be presented at the line. If maximum number of calls is set for 50 and the busy trigger is set to 40, incoming call 41 gets rejected with a busy cause (and will get forwarded if Call Forward Busy is set). If this line is shared, all the lines must be busy before incoming calls get rejected.

Hi Nithin,

On the CP-8841 phones, the busy trigger is set to 2. On the analog port it is one and that can't be changed.

Thanks

Dale

what device you use for Analogue, is it ATA or FXS port on a gateway . How is this analogue line configured ?

It's an FXS port on a VG-350 gateway.  It is set up as a POTS both way line.
