SIP Hook Enable Cisco

Hi All

I have a problem with Cisco 7821 and Plantronics headset.

7821 are SIP 

I have a CME 

I need to configure hookswitch control for theese phones and this is the only thing i found:

  • Make sure the phone F/W is 8.3(3)x or higher.
  • Access to CUCME via the router’s command line interface and use the following commands to enable EHS feature for the phone.
    • Device-Name (config)# telephony-service
    • Device-Name (config-telephony)# service phone ehookEnable 1
    • Device-Name (config-telephony)# create cnf-files
  • Reset the phone.

Unfortunately this is for SCCP only and not for SIP ones.

Does anyone have a fix for this?

Hello Simone,

This should work for both SIP and SCCP phone. so by doing "service phone ehookEnable 1" under the telephony service and performing no create cnf and create cnf and  perform no create profile and create profile under the voice register global too.

verify the same whether this is enable or not by open the <SEPXXXXXXXX.xml>file and check for

<vendorConfig>
<ehookEnable>1</ehookEnable>========This should be "1" which  means enabled.
</vendorConfig>
