Sip Phones takes long to failed to SRST

Hi All,

We are working with a customer to setup an IP Telephony system. There are two types of phones in the infrastructure, the 7900 and the 7800 series. We have SRST configured and when we simulate a failure the 7800 phone takes about 5 minutes whereas the 7900 takes less than a minute to detect failure and register to the router.

 

We would like to have this rectified, has anyone every encounter this issue and was able to resolve it?

Hi,

Is there a difference in the number of callmanagers in the Callmanager group assigned to the device pool of 7900 and 7800 series IP phones? The time will be more for the phones which have more callmanager in the callmanager group. Can you try with just one Callmanager in the CM group for a 7800 series IP phone and see if the time is decreased. If it doesn't then more probing is needed.
